Peanut Butter, Banana, and Oat Milkshake
1. 2 cups cold skim milk, 2. 1 banana peeled, cut into chunks 3. 1/4 cup peanut butter 4. 1 heaping teaspoon honey 5. 2 tablespoon finely ground flax seeds 6. 2 teaspoon old fashioned oats, ground fine 7. 1 cup of ice cubes 8. In a spice grinder, pulverize flax seeds and oats into a fine powder. My spice grinder is just my coffee grinder really well cleaned out.
In a blender combine milk, banana, peanut butter, honey, and ground flax, oats and ice. Blend until no banana chunks remain, and the mixture is thoroughly incorporated. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
“Balzac’s Omelette” by Anka Muhlstein published by Random House takes us on a delightful journey through 19th Century France and how the culture of food and friends influenced Balzac’s genius. Nestled somewhere between the land of coffee table book and novel this has definitely earned a spot on my table.
